| Charlie Hunnam Height: Why Sons of Anarchy Star Stopped Riding Motorcycles Charlie Hunnam's stock as an actor has exploded since he joined the cast of FX's biker drama Sons of Anarchy. Though it was Hunnam's performance as Jax Teller that brought him the lion's share of fame, it was his off-screen love of motorcycles that helped solidify his reputation with bikers all across the globe. But despite his appreciation for bikes, the actor recently revealed why he no longer rides them. Standing at an impressive 6'1", Charlie Hunnam has never been one to shy away from thrill-seeking activities, having been an avid motorcycle rider since before he was even old enough to ride. Later, when Hunnam's career began to take off after joining the cast of Sons of Anarchy, his love for the open road seemed to know no bounds. However, since the birth of his two sons, the British actor's perspective on life and his own mortality has shifted. Speaking to Men's Health, Hunnam explained why he gave up motorcycling after leaving Sons of Anarchy. "I had two babies actually shortly after Sons of Anarchy finished," he said. "The kind of mortality that comes with the responsibility of parenthood completely changed my relationship with risk. So, I stopped riding. It was too dangerous. I just thought, ‘I’m not willing to die and leave my children without a father.'" The decision to give up his beloved motorcycles was not an easy one for Charlie Hunnam, but his priority has always been his family's safety. Thankfully for his fans, his Sons of Anarchy character Jax Teller will always be remembered as the king of the open road, no matter what height the actor is. |
